Contract Collection made entirely of wood sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified plantations. The latest restaurant seating collection, includes 11 beautifully crafted side chairs, armchairs and barstools representing a variety of styles and finishes. Each piece was designed with generously proportioned seats, elegant tip resistant curves and made to stack four to six chairs high.

Amy Kern, GAR Products Director of Product Development, designed the Contract Collection. “I look at each chair not as a sum of its parts, but as a functional sculpture,” noted Ms. Kern. “In the Contract Collection, the functional aspect is to heighten the dining experience. Diners want comfort, style and character, and with this collection I know that they’ll have it. From the first sketches onward, each chair was scrutinized for comfort. I sought to make chairs that customers
would embrace, reduce the ecological footprint, and reinforce our commitment to crafting beautiful chairs with integrity.”

GAR Products has recently launched an innovative program to green its design and manufacturing processes to save energy and natural resources. As part of its commitment to green manufacturing, the company sources the wood used in catalogs and in its furniture from forests that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Foam-to-wood glue is water based with no volatile organic compounds (VOC). Wood-to-wood glue is the lowest VOC available on the market. The company has also switched to an ultraviolet (UV) finishing process that captures 97% of the substances in the finish, preventing the release of pollutants into the environment. As of November 2006, GAR Products began purchasing 100% of its power through Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). As a result, GAR Products is preventing more than one million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually, equivalent to removing over 100 cars from the road for one year or 68 homes converting to renewable energy for one year. GAR Products was recently recognized by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for its
efforts to reduce pollution As a result of its environmentally friendly operations, GAR Products has been certified under the Environmental Protection Agency’s “GreenStart Program.”
